Cone Man Running –Five Minute Mile

Delighted, just delighted, to announce that my play Fuck Kiss Touch has been one of 33 5-minute plays selected to be part of Cone Man Running’s 5-Minute Mile short play festival.

The festival runs from December 9-19, and it’s going to be epic. On any given evening, some plays will be pre-planned, some plays will be performed by chance, and some will be voted for by the audience! I love this little piece, and I’m excited to share it with audiences!

Come check it out!

Scriptwriters/Houston Tournament of Monologues

I’m excited (and you should also be excited) to come out and support Scriptwriters/Houston at their super-fun-sounding beer-drinkingest event, the Tournament of Monologues.

It’s happening at 7 PM on Friday, Nov. 6 at the Fox and Hound bar, and anyone can participate! Writers just bring some monologues, grab an actor, and have a monologue-off!

If you just can’t get enough of my charming (written) voice, you’re in luck, because I’ll be there–with at least one monologue about meatloaf!

Staged Reading–NOVELTY!

My play NOVELTY! has been in development for a few years now, and I’m really excited about some of the new elements I’m working with in this latest draft.

Scriptwriters/Houston and Theatre Suburbia will host the reading, which will be directed by the talented Dabrina Sandifer.

The reading will run approximately 100 minutes, followed by a talkback. Come eat snacks, see a work-in-progress, and share your thoughts!

NOVELTY!
Welcome to Wayfarer Novelty Golf, the most fancy-pants mini golf educational family experience you’ll ever encounter in all your wide and weary travels. Wayfarer is home to bored teenagers, stressed-out moms, and the world’s only mini-golf replica of the Statue of David (sans the baby-maker, of course). Rob lies about everything, Claire wants to fuck (with) everyone, and Evan may or may not have been making Meth at his parents’ lake house. Summer in the suburbs is made of endless, hot, empty days. How ever will they fill the time?

Main Street Theatre Teaching Artist

I am delighted to announce that I have begun working with the fabulous Main Street Theatre as a teaching artist. I am assistant-teaching two core classes per week, with them! I am looking forward to starting work with Main Street’s new SteAmWorks program, a program dedicated to putting the “A” in STEM by using theatre to help teach science. Those classes will begin in November and extend through February 2016.

Main Street is just a wonderful organization that does important educational work all around the city, and I am totally thrilled to have the opportunity to work with them!

“The Heidi Chronicles” at Rice University

I am delighted to announce that I have been selected to direct The Heidi Chronicles, by Wendy Wasserstein, at Rice University. The play is being produced through the Rice Players, an entirely student-run organization, and I am so thrilled to be working with such a talented group!

The Heidi Chronicles will be presented at Hamman Hall on the Rice University campus. Performances will be on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, April 9-18, at 8:00 PM. There will be a talkback with the Women’s Resource Center following the performance on Saturday, April 11.

Houston Fringe Community Board

I had a great time volunteering for the Houston Fringe festival last year, so I’m very excited to be a member of the community board for the 2015 Fringe! I’ll be helping with pre-festival organization, and of course, I’ll be over at the festival all the time this fall!

Houston Fringe Festival 2015 will be September 23-27. More information is available here.
